The crypto community has joined hands to fight another disaster, helping Turkey’s earthquake victims with a donation of millions.

The crypto community has always taken initiatives to help people around the world during times of crisis. It has again actively helped the victims of the Turkey earthquake with millions of dollars in crypto donations.
Earthquake victims receive millions in crypto donations
Turkey was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday, killing more than 9,000 people. This earthquake is not the deadliest since Fukushima in 2011. Thousands of people have been injured and lost their homes.
Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao announced the airdrop of $100 worth of BNB tokens to users in the affected region. The total donation from Binance is approximately $5 million.

Ahbap Association, a non-profit organization based in Turkey, sets up wallets on various chains to help donate crypto to the community.
According to data from Etherscan, the Ethereum chain has received $1.2 million in donations. The BNB wallet has a balance of over $644k, while the Avalanche wallet has over $1.18 million. It is important for the community to donate only to addresses of well-known organizations and avoid sending money to scammers.
The crypto community has been helping those affected during various crises. Ukraine received over $20 million in crypto donations to help fight Russian aggression in 2022.
Vitalik Buterin donated $1 billion worth of crypto to India in 2021 as COVID-19 relief. The Children’s Heart Unit Fund, a UK-based children’s charity, received a £100,000 (or $137,560) worth of crypto donations in 2021.
